Have you ever heard of “albóndigas”? This is what they call meatballs in the many Spanish-speaking countries rich in culture and good food.
However, even if you’re not staying in Madrid or a coastal Spanish town, you can follow our easy recipe to prepare this dish at home; we assure you that whoever you are hosting – family or friends – will be astonished! What makes it special is its tomato sauce, which is rich in vegetables and spices, that together create a very distinct flavor.
To taste the typical flavor of Spanish cuisine in this meat dish, you’ll just have to follow a six-step recipe, which includes – as usual – our yummy Minute® Rice. Don’t worry, we simplified its method of preparation exclusively for you! But remember, to get the authentic flavor it’s important to use the correct ingredients, which you can find inside the recipe.
Are you a lover of Mediterranean cuisine, or at least of the Spanish one? Then, once you’ve tried the albóndigas, we invite you to prepare our Quick and Easy Spanish Rice Recipe. Made with our White Rice, it only takes 15 minutes to cook. While it’s normally vegetarian, this dish doesn’t exclude the addition of bacon, ground beef or chicken.

Regarding leftovers, your choices are endless! You could make a quick meatball sub, stuff a pita half, or put them in a rice bowl. You can even build up your small meatball slider repertoire for back-to-school.
Consider making a double batch and storing; it will be easier on you to relax knowing that you always have frozen meatballs on hand for a quick meal or a packed lunch. Meatballs should be frozen on a baking sheet for a few hours without touching before placing them in freezer-safe bags. For simple peeling, line the sheet with parchment paper. To prevent drying out, carefully place another sheet of parchment on top. Put them in bags after a few hours and freeze them again for three to four months!
