What is Kosher Salt?

Kosher salt is mainly used for cooking and not at the table. If your recipe calls for kosher salt then you should stick to that as swapping kosher salt with table salt will change the recipe flavor.

Recipes usually call for kosher salt because it has wider, coarser grains. The wider grains salt food in a gentler way than table salt. Using kosher salt enhances the genuine flavor of the food instead of making it salty.

A good kosher salt substitute is sea salt. It is finer so you will need to use much less.

Oat Milk

Oat milk is a non-dairy, lactose-free and vegan friendly alternative to cow’s milk. It is made from oats that have been soaked in water, blended, and then strained. The texture is creamy with a mild oatmeal flavor. It is made in various flavors such as unsweetened, vanilla, sweetened and chocolate.

Oat milk is a good option for people that have certain food allergies and intolerances. It is naturally free of lactose, nuts and soy.

Coffee Powder

Coffee powder is made by roasting coffee beans and grinding them into a fine powder.

If you use coffee powder in your baking it will enhance the flavor. The beans are roasted at a high temperature, which brings out their natural oils and flavors.
