Sweet Banana Goodness

There are a lot of great desserts out there but rice pudding is always a favorite. Add in banana and you’ve got a rice pudding that’s creamy, delicious and really can’t be beat. After a busy week, you deserve a great-tasting dessert and now, with Minute® Instant White Rice, you can enjoy delicious flavor without having to spend hours in the kitchen and without the hassle of mega cleanup.

You could even add cocoa powder your favorite peanut butter to your banana rice pudding. Top with crushed vanilla wafers and cinnamon, chopped nuts or chocolate syrup. Anything goes!

If you’re looking for a more whole-grain option, try our Creamy Brown Rice Pudding and don’t forget to add some banana! For another tasty dish with a more savory touch, we recommend you try either a delicious chicken and rice casserole, fried rice with egg or this easy red beans and rice recipe.

The best bananas for this recipe are ripe bananas that are developing some brown spots. Don’t let them sit too long and become too dark, though. In between is just right. After you’ve peeled the banana you can cut it into slices or mash it up.

Feeling adventurous? Add caramelized bananas to your rice pudding. Simply heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 teaspoons of brown sugar in a pan and add your sliced banana. When the bananas have cooked and started to caramelize, add them to the rice pudding.
