Unlike common Chinese takeout, this version is made using fish sauce along with red chilis or serrano peppers for a kick! It’s also sometimes topped with cilantro, green onion, lime and cucumber with the egg stirred in instead of fried for a creamier textured rice.
Another tasty variety is from India. To give your quick fried rice recipe a touch of Indian-inspired flavor, first make sure to use our Ready to Serve Basmati Rice, which is a typical aromatic variety for Indian cuisine. When cooking over the stove, the oil is often infused with spices such as mustard seeds, garlic, peppers or turmeric, however if you’re making it in the microwave, the spices can simply be sprinkled on top and mixed in along with cilantro.
