Prepare rice and quinoa according to package directions, using milk in place of water. Set aside.
Stir together orange zest, orange juice and chopped apple in a medium bowl.
Add in dried fruit, chopped nuts, yogurt, honey, vanilla, ground cinnamon and cooked rice and quinoa. Stir to combine.
Cover the bowl and place the muesli mixture into the refrigerator and cool for an hour or overnight.
To serve, top generously with fresh seasonal fruit, if using.
Change up the flavors in this recipe by making it with different types of dried fruits and nuts. For the dried fruit, try prunes, raisins, dried apricots, apples or cranberries. Experiment with chopped almonds, cashews, peanuts or pistachios for the nuts.
For a different flavor, substitute the milk in the recipe with your favorite dairy-free milk, such as soy, oat, coconut or almond.
