What Makes a Tostada Different From a Taco?

Tacos and tostadas may look similar, but they are in fact different! Tostadas are served with the tortilla open, while tacos are closed up into a wrap. Also, tostadas may come with a thicker tortilla to hold the contents.

Do You Eat a Tostada Like a Taco?

To eat a tostada, you should keep the base flat and intact, then lift it up carefully and bite from the sides into the middle. With a taco however, the tortilla wraps around the main ingredients so you bite into the folded ends like a sandwich. Both, nonetheless, are eaten with hands.
