How to Defrost Frozen Corn

Corn is a kitchen staple all over the world and used in all kinds of different recipes. For longer term preservation, many people freeze their corn in the freezer as frozen corn can last a long time. This means that it must be thawed out before it can be used again.

There are a few different ways to defrost your corn. The simplest way is to leave it in your refrigerator overnight, this is probably the best way to ensure you get the best texture from yoru corn.

If you want your corn to be ready quicker, simply place it into a sealable bag and run under water for around 15 minutes.

If you want your corn to be ready in minutes, you can also use the microwave. Simply put your frozen corn into a microwave-safe bowl and add a few teaspoons of cold water. Your corn should be ready in just a few minutes.

Now that we know how to thaw our corn out, we can use it in this Creamed Corn and Jalapeno Chicken Rice, this cheesy Mexican rice recipe or this Corn and Edamame Rice Salad. If you’re craving seafood as well as some corn, then check out this Shrimp and Corn Risotto.
