Use equal amounts of rice and water.
2 servings: 1 cup rice + 1 cup water

How do I cook Minute® Instant Brown Rice on the stove?

It’s easy and fast!

It’s easy and fast!

2 servings: 1 bag rice & quinoa + 1 cup water
4 servings: 2 bags rice & quinoa + 2 cups water

DO NOT USE BAG FOR COOKING.
ADD water and contents of bag, stir. Add oil if desired. BOIL water, reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer 10 minutes or until water is absorbed, then fluff.

How do I cook Minute® Instant Jasmine Rice on the stove?

Can you prepare Minute® Instant Rice in an Instant Pot?

Yes it’s easy to cook Minute® Instant White and Brown Rice in an Instant Pot. Follow these simple instructions:

White Rice: Use equal amounts of rice and liquid. Stir. Use the “Manual” setting with High Pressure. Set timer for 1 minute. When cooking time has elapsed use the “Quick Release” to vent all the steam. Remove lid and fluff rice. Serve.

Brown Rice: Use equal amounts of rice and liquid. Stir. Use the “manual” setting with High Pressure. Set timer for 5 minutes. When cooking time has elapsed, use the “Quick Release” to vent all the steam. Remove lid and fluff rice. Serve.

Do you still make Minute® Multi-Grain Medley?

Yes, but the product name has changed to Rice & Quinoa. It’s the same product with a new name.

Can I cook Minute® Instant Rice in other liquids other than water?

Yes, you can cook Minute® Instant Rice in a variety of other liquids for an easy flavor burst. Here are some suggestions:
Broths or stocks – chicken, beef, vegetable
Fruit juices – apple (use with brown rice for a delicious start to the day), orange, cranberry, pineapple
Dairy & Non-dairy milks- skim, soy, coconut, almond
Waters – coconut

Do I have to heat the Minute® Rice Cup products?

The Minute® Rice Cup products are fully cooked so no heating is required. However, heating does provide a softer
texture.

Can Minute® Rice Cups be prepared on the stove?

Minute® Rice Cups can be prepared on
the stove. Here are the easy preparation instructions:

1. Remove film from cup. Empty contents into a small skillet or saucepan and break up any clumps.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of water (or broth, juice) and heat on low for 1-2 minutes until heated through,
stirring occasionally.
3. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Should I adjust the
cooking time of my casseroles when I use Minute® Instant Rice?

When using Minute® Instant Rice in casseroles, don’t adjust the casserole recipe baking time.

How do I cook an
entire box of 72 oz Minute® Instant White Rice?

Bring 20 cups of water (or liquid) to a boil
in an 8-quart stockpot.
Stir in the entire contents of the box; cover. Remove from heat.
Let stand 10 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with fork. Yields 40 cups of cooked Minute® Rice.

How do I store my
leftover prepared Minute® Rice? Can I reheat in the oven?

IN REFRIGERATOR:
Prepared rice and dishes (casseroles, main dishes, etc.) may be stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
These dishes can be reheated in oven at 350° F until heated through. Watch carefully to prevent
sticking. Add more liquid, if necessary.
They can also be reheated on top of the stove in double boiler or saucepan until heated through. Add
more liquid, if necessary.
IN FREEZER:
Prepared rice and dishes may be frozen for up to 2 months. If freezing in dish, be sure dish is type of
cookware that can withstand drastic temperature change from freezer to oven.
Reheat (directly from freezer) at 400° F in oven until heated through. Watch carefully to prevent
sticking. Add more liquid, if necessary.
IN MICROWAVE:
Follow instructions in your microwave manual.

How do I cook
Minute® Instant Rice at high altitude?

Minute® Instant Rice products were
developed for cooking at sea level. For higher altitudes (3,000 ft or higher) liquid amounts and cooking
times need to increase.

1. Increase amount of liquid by 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons per cup.

2. Increase sit/cook time: White Rice – let the rice sit 8 minutes or more, Brown Rice – cook the
rice for 12-15 minutes.

How do I cook
Minute® Instant White or Brown rice in a rice cooker?

To prepare Minute® White or Brown
Rice in a rice cooker, follow the package measurement directions for desired number of servings. Spray
the rice cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place rice and water into rice cooker and press cook
button. Cooker will turn off when rice is done.

How do I cook
Minute® Instant White Rice in the oven for a large group?

Warm the oven to 200°F. Place the rice in an
aluminum pan. Add the appropriate amount of boiling water and seal with the matching aluminum lid or
foil wrap. Turn the oven off, and place the pan in the warmed oven and let sit for 10 minutes or until
liquid is absorbed.

Can I use
Minute® Instant Rice in a recipe that calls for regular rice?

Minute® Instant Rice cannot be
added to recipes using other types of rice (converted/parboiled, long grain white, brown or aromatic
long cook with 15-40 minutes cook time) because the amount of rice, water and cook time needed varies
with each type of rice. Minute® White, Premium and Jasmine can be substituted for each other in recipes.
If the recipe calls for a bed of rice, you can prepare any Minute® Instant Rice , including
Brown and Rice & Quinoa, separately according to package directions.

Can I reuse the Minute®
Rice Cup plastic cup?

Yes, the Minute® Rice Cup
cups can be reused as a measuring cup in a pinch. The cup measures approximately 1 cup liquid when
filled to the top.
The cups also work great for storing small objects (i.e. paper clips, screws, nails, rubber bands, etc.)

What can I do with
leftover cooked Minute® Instant Rice?

Place cooked and cooled Minute®
Rice in a sealed container and place in refrigerator for 3-5 days.

Can I freeze cooked
Minute® Instant Rice?

Yes, you can freeze cooked Minute®
Rice for up to 2 months.
Place cooked and cooled Minute® Rice in a sealed container and freeze. To reheat, remove from
freezer, sprinkle one tablespoon of water in container and microwave on HIGH, loosely covered for two
minutes. Microwave ovens vary so reheating time is approximate and time might need to be adjusted.

Can I cook an entire
box of Minute® Instant Rice?

Yes you can cook an entire box of Minute® Rice.
Listed below are the liquid measurements to cook an entire box of Minute® Instant Rice
products.
White Rice
– 7 oz needs 2 cups water, broth, juice
– 14 oz. needs 4 cups of water, broth, juice
– 28 oz. needs 8 cups of water, broth, juice
– 42 oz needs 12 cups of water, broth, juice
– 72 oz. needs 20 cups of water, broth, juice
Instructions: BOIL water, broth or
juice. ADD rice, stir, cover & remove from heat. WAIT 5 minutes, or until water is absorbed, then
fluff.
Jasmine
– 12 oz. needs 3.5 cups of water, broth, juice
Instructions: BOIL water, broth or
juice. ADD rice, stir, cover & remove from heat. WAIT 5 minutes, or until water is absorbed, then
fluff.
Brown Rice
– 14 oz. needs 4 cups of water, broth, juice
– 28 oz. needs 8 cups of water, broth, juice

water is absorbed, then fluff. REMOVE from heat. Fluff with fork.
